The tiger is a powerful icon of India’s cultural and natural heritage

The tiger is one of the largest and most awesome predators in the world. Tigers are solitary and territorial. The territory of an adult male may encompass territories of two to seven females. It is carnivorous and hunts for prey primarily by sight and sound. The tiger is a unique animal which plays a pivotal role in the health and diversity of an ecosystem. It is a top predator and is at the apex of the food chain. Therefore the presence of tigers in the forest is an indicator of the well-being of the ecosystem, Another interesting biometric fact , tiger stripes are individually as unique as the human fingerprint.

  3. Tiger male waits for the female and cubs to eat first
  4. Tigers are really good hunters and do it alone. Tigers are decisive, clinical and surprise their prey with an ambush. They know the weakest spot of their prey. 

Tigers occupy an important place in the Indian culture. Since ages, it has been a symbol of magnificence, power, beauty and fierceness and has been associated with bravery and valor. The combination of grace, strength, agility and enormous power has earned the tiger its pride of place as the national animal of India
